Privacy Policy — Daily Task Planner

Summary

Your tasks stay on your computer. The extension has no access to any website, makes no network requests, and has no server behind it.

What this extension does

Daily Task Planner is a to-do list for the current day. You add tasks, give them priorities, check them off, and see your progress. At midnight the day's list is archived so you start the next day fresh, and a reminder can nudge you in the morning if you have not planned anything yet.

Data the extension collects and stores

Everything you type into it, and nothing else:

Tasks — the text you write, its priority, and whether it is done.
Daily history — an archive of past days containing the date, how many tasks there were, how many were completed, and the tasks themselves. The most recent 30 days are kept; older days are dropped automatically.
The date the current list belongs to, so that a missed midnight rollover still files the list under the correct day.

Task text is whatever you choose to write. If you write something personal in a task, that text lives in your browser's local storage on your machine — it is not sent anywhere, but it is stored in plain form on your device.

What is NOT collected

No browsing history, page content, or page addresses. The extension has no host permissions and no content scripts, so it cannot read any website.
No personal identifiers, name, email address, or account. There is no sign-up.
No location, contacts, or calendar data.
No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking.
No network requests whatsoever. The extension's code contains no calls that contact any server.

Where your data is stored

In chrome.storage.local, inside your own Chrome profile on your own device. It is not synced to your Google account, so each computer keeps its own separate list.

Permissions and why each one is needed

Permission	Why it is needed
`storage`	Saves your tasks and your 30-day history on the device so they are still there when you reopen the popup or restart Chrome.
`alarms`	Schedules two daily timers: one at midnight that archives the finished day and clears the list, and one in the morning that triggers the optional reminder. Chrome shuts down idle extensions, so a timer is the only way to run these on schedule.
`notifications`	Shows the morning nudge ("what do you want to get done today?") if you have not added any tasks yet. The notification text is a fixed, generic sentence — it never contains the content of your tasks.

Third-party sharing

None. Your tasks are never sold, shared, transmitted, or disclosed to anyone, including the developer.

Data retention and how to delete your data

Delete a task: remove it in the popup; it is gone from storage immediately.
Clear your history: use the clear-history control in the popup to wipe all archived days at once.
Automatic trimming: archived days older than the most recent 30 are dropped without any action from you.
Delete everything: uninstalling the extension causes Chrome to permanently delete its storage area, including all tasks and history.

Children's privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It collects no personal information from anyone and transmits nothing.

Any change will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
